Robert Hansen
Chairman & CEO

Robert Hansen

Co-founder, Chairman, and CEO of Hansen Engine. Before joining the company full-time in 1983, Mr. Hansen was an investment analyst for the Board of Pensions of the Lutheran Church in America (1972–1982), a securities broker in Washington, DC (1968–1972), and earlier served with the US Central Intelligence Agency. He co-founded Electromed, Inc. and served as its Chairman/CEO for twenty years (1992–2012). He holds a BA from Dana College (1964), an MA in US History from the University of Cincinnati (1966), and an MDiv from Luther Theological Seminary (1976), with additional graduate study in US economic history and foreign policy. He is the brother of Craig Hansen.

Craig Hansen

Co-founder and SVP of Research and Development. A graduate of Western Iowa Technical School (1969) with additional study in electrical and mechanical engineering at Iowa State University, he was previously an engineering associate at Western Electric Co. (1969–1974). Mr. Hansen has been granted more than 25 US and foreign patents relating to engine technology and air/gas compression, with additional patents pending. He is the brother of Robert Hansen.

Paul Cross
Vice President, Engineering

Paul Cross

Joined the company in December 1981. A graduate of the University of Minnesota Institute of Technology in mechanical engineering (1980), with a background in thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and mechanical design, Mr. Cross is a co-inventor on certain of the company’s issued and pending patents. Earlier he served as project engineer and manager at Central Engineering Company, Minneapolis, delivering turn-key jet-engine and military-tank-transmission test-cell equipment. He holds membership in the ASME and SAE.

Tony Albright
Director & President

Tony Albright

An investment professional with more than 25 years serving personal and corporate clients. Mr. Albright has served in the Minnesota House of Representatives, with committee work touching commerce, healthcare, and workforce development, and is active in civic and charitable efforts — including leadership-development programs for young adults in science, technology, engineering, and math.

Gordon Heidacker
Director & Executive Advisor

Gordon Heidacker

An automotive-sector leader with some forty years of experience spanning design, development, and assembly operations through boardroom strategy. From 2001–2005 he served as chief of corporate strategy reporting to the board of DaimlerChrysler, leading powertrain consolidation, R&D strategy, and global procurement processes. He holds mechanical engineering and MBA degrees from the University of Michigan. As Executive Advisor, his focus is developing strategic relationships that accelerate commercialization of the Hansen Variable Displacement Supercharger.®

Thomas Hagedorn

Founder and owner of The Centurion Companies of Alexandria, Virginia, with interests in energy-efficiency technology, real estate, and financial services. Mr. Hagedorn served in the Minnesota State Legislature (1971–1975) and four terms as a US Congressman from Minnesota (1975–1983).

Allan Murray

Provided scientific and executive management at Ford Motor Company for more than 30 years, serving as Ford’s Technology Director for the Partnership for a New Generation of Vehicles (PNGV). He earned a PhD and MS in metallurgical engineering and materials science from Carnegie Mellon and an MBA from Wayne State University, and consults through his firm ECOPLEXUS Inc.
